2nd ANNUAL PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT AT TT PALM SPRINGS - DAY 2

Fri. Mar 18 - Today was the second day of the Annual Pickleball Tournament at TT Palm Springs. Players were placed in either the A Flight or the B Flight depending on the score tally from Thursday's tournaments. Today Ken was placed in the A Flight because he had won five of six games played on Thursday. Wow!!

I, on the other hand, only won one game of the six played on Thursday, so I was in the B Flight.

Another great day of tournament play!! A fun time was had by all the participants. We are all looking forward to tomorrow, Friday, which will be the finals.

PICKLEBALL POT LUCK AT TT PALM SPRINGS, CA

Fri. Mar 18 - Annie decided it was time for another Pickleball party, so she planned a Pickleball Pot Luck for Friday afternoon. Everyone met on the courts and brought a dish to share and their own beverage. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the company was a lot of fun!! Thanks for thinking of it, Annie.

2nd ANNUAL PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT AT TT PALM SPRINGS - DAY 3

Sat., Mar 19 - The last day of the 3-day Pickleball Tournament at TT Palm Springs -- The Finals! Participants reported at 8 a.m. ready to play. Play was endless from about 8:30 to noon when the final match was played. The competition was intense!! Here is some of the action!

Did you notice that Ken has a new Yellow Champion paddle? Now, he "STINGS LIKE A BEE"!! Even so, this is the only match he lost in the Finals -- his match with me!!

The spectators were on hand. They usually cheer for the underdog, and that is usually me! So they made quite a ruckus when I played!

When the score was 6-2 against us, I told Richard, "They won't give us a wave unless we score a point! Richard scored that point!! The spectators came through with a big wave and cheer!! We won another point, and another. At the end of the match Richard and I were the winners!! I think that's the only match I won on Saturday!! Thank you Richard and sideliners!!

On Sunday morning, there was a Medals Ceremony. There were so many winners -- winners for each flight for each day. I could not get pictures of them all.

I did get a picture of Ken, grinning with pride after receiving the Gold Medal for B Flight!! Congratulations, Ken!! Great job!!

CHINESE BUFFET AT PAK INN, RANCHO MIRAGE, CA

When we were in Palm Springs five - six years ago, a group would get together and go over to Pak Inn for the Chinese Buffet at least once a month. We were not really planning to go out to eat today, but while we were at the Pickleball courts this morning, Paul invited us to join him and Carla Jo at the Pak Inn Buffet. Of course we couldn't say "No".

We had met Paul on the Pickleball courts when we wintered in Florida. We ran into them each winter for the past several years. It was unexpected that we would see them out West!

So here we are at the Pak Inn. Around the table, left to right: Roger, Paul, Ken, Faye, Carla Jo, Annie.

The only regret we have about this gathering is that it was the last time we will see Paul for a long while. Tomorrow morning they go to TT Wilderness Lakes for a week, and then will be heading back to Florida. But, a few months ago I taught him about Blogging, so we'll keep up with them on his Blog!
